Ironwake 33-foot patrol and rescue boat 33140 running at speed offshore

Building the capability to answer the call.

Ironwake is developing the vessels, equipment, technology, training, procedures, and partnerships necessary to support future maritime search-and-rescue operations. We are currently in the development and readiness-building phase and do not yet conduct search-and-rescue missions.

Who We Are

Built for the mission.

Ironwake is being built to support the people and organizations responding to emergencies, particularly in maritime environments. We are not a government agency, a law-enforcement organization, or part of the U.S. Coast Guard or Coast Guard Auxiliary, and we are not endorsed or authorized by them. Ironwake Search & Rescue Foundation is a DBA of I Am Stage 4 Foundation, working toward future response capability through trained personnel, specialized equipment, technology, and logistical support.

Our founder is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a current member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary who is completing Coxswain training. That service is personal and separate from Ironwake.

What We Are Building

Planned capability to support searches for missing, overdue, or distressed persons and vessels in maritime environments.

Emergency Response

Developing the resources, personnel, vessels, and logistical capability to support emergencies and disasters in the future.

Aerial & Drone Search

Building unmanned aircraft and technology capability intended to expand future search coverage and situational awareness.

Vessel Support

Working toward capable maritime platforms and equipment for future search, rescue, transport, and response operations.

Agency Support

Long-term objective: support qualified public-safety, emergency-management, and SAR organizations when requested and appropriate.

Resources

Our planned assets

Ironwake is identifying and acquiring the resources needed to support future search, rescue, and emergency-response capability. We do not claim capabilities we have not yet built, and we do not currently deploy crews or vessels.

Rescue Vessels

Planned boats and platforms to be configured for search, rescue, transport, and on-water response.

Marine Communications

Radios, inter-vessel links, and coordination systems to keep future teams connected on the water.

Navigation & Search Technology

Chart plotters, sonar, and search-planning tools identified for future search effectiveness.

Drones & Aerial Systems

Unmanned aircraft intended to extend a future search crew's reach, view, and awareness.

Safety & Rescue Equipment

Life jackets, throw ropes, rescue boards, lighting, and other essential gear on our build-out list.

Medical & Emergency Equipment

First aid, trauma kits, oxygen, and emergency supplies planned to support future casualty care.

Cooperation

Future mission partners

Effective search and rescue depends on cooperation. As Ironwake develops, we hope to work alongside qualified organizations and agencies where our support is requested and appropriate. The categories below describe the types of partners we aspire to collaborate with — no formal partnerships, endorsements, or agreements have been established.

Government & Public Safety

Coast Guard, fire/rescue, law enforcement, and emergency management organizations.

SAR & Volunteer Networks

Other nonprofit search and rescue organizations and qualified volunteer responders.

Emergency Management

Local, state, and regional emergency management agencies coordinating disaster response.

Corporate & Technology Partners

Companies and technology providers that help us operate more effectively and safely.
